Job Description

The market leading Cox owned duopoly in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking a Broadcast/RF Maintenance Engineer. This experienced technologist will oversee all station transmission systems.

Responsibilities

Duties will include strong hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting and repair skills applied to High Power RF systems to include transmitters, diplexers, filters and antennas.  Experience with 2, 7 and 13GhZ microwave systems, satellite up and downlinks, radar and fiber systems.  Knowledge of FCC Part 73, 74 and BAS compliance, OET65 and fulfillment of Chief Operator and public file requirements.  Implement and execute preventive maintenance of electrical generators, ATS, electrical distribution and switching equipment. Familiarity with and periodic inspection and maintenance of HVAC, structural, fire control, security and remote control systems.  Other broadcast and studio maintenance assignments as required.

Qualified applicants will have an associate’s degree in a related field and at least 5 years television broadcast experience. This is a full time position. SBE certification is a plus. Flexible hours and shifts, including weekends, overnights and holidays will be required. Driver’s license is required. Must be able to lift 50lbs. APPLICATION DEADLINE is May 31, 2013 Eligibility Requirements Qualified  applicants must be a high school senior, college student, and/or  between the ages of 18-25, pursuing studies at a vocational or trade  school. All applicants must be a US Citizen and complete the on-line application no later than the published deadline date, which is May 31, 2013. The  Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation is unique in that it offers  scholarships to single mothers, children who attend alternative schools,  students who have earned a GED, students with grade point averages of  2.0 and students who have previously been incarcerated, etc. but desire a  higher educational opportunity. This group is generally not the  recipients of college scholarships and is typically ignored by the Board  of Education.

Applications for the “Living in a Material World” grant from the ASM Foundation Teacher Grants can be submitted by kindergarten – 12^th-grade teachers now through May 25^th. The grant award ranges up to $500. These grants are intended to enhance awareness of materials science and the role of materials scientists in society.
