Every
year, the Friends of 440, a charitable organization comprised of people who
work in the Florida workers’ compensation system, grants scholarship funds to
deserving kids whose parents are involved in the workers’ compensation system
as, for example, lawyers, insurance adjusters, medical personnel who treat
workers’ compensation patients, and, of course, injured workers.
The purpose of this letter is to let you know that these scholarships are
available to kids who have the talent, the financial need, and the necessary
connection to the workers’ compensation system. High school seniors must have a
2.7 GPA to apply and scholarship recipients must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA
and have at least 12 credit hours per semester, in order to remain eligible for
funds.
Applications for scholarships must be received by February 28, 2013, and the
application is on our website at: www.440scholarship.org.

It's making us smile just
to be able to offer you this fun volunteer opportunity! We have
immediate need for volunteers to assist with the "happiest 5K on the
planet" - The Color Run - this February 9th!
The Color Run is a
feel-good, happy, colorful event. "Color Runners" of all shapes and
sizes happily go from wearing pristine white clothing, to being covered in
prismatic color. At each kilometer mark, a different color of powder fills
the air and covers the participants, creating an ever-increasing spectrum of
color and beauty. At the finish line, the color festival kicks off and the
air is filled with millions of vivid color combinations as participants get
in on the color throwing fun as well. For more information, go to www.thecolorrun.com,
follow us on Facebook
or check out this video!

Color
Zone
Saturday, February 9 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. This is quite possibly the most fun volunteer job we've ever offered! You will be throwing powdered color at Color Runners as they pass the 4 color stations. Then, of course, you'll sweep up the color. This is a colorful (that means messy) job and a high intensity job, so you'll want to wear old clothes, be over 16 years old, able to follow directions and able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs. Act fast - these spots fill up fast! Click to register
If you just want to run but don't want to volunteer, you can
