Planning to become a teacher? SCHOLARSHIP FOR YOU!

The Florida Retired Educators Foundation's mission is to promote the well-being of retired educators; encourage community service by supporting public education; and to disseminate information to members and the public through publications, programs and projects at the state and local levels.

SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY:
  • must be a graduation high school senior
  • ability to relate to and work with people of all ages
  • academic aptitude and achievement
  • commitment to service, with special interest in teaching children and youth
  • economic need
  • emphasis should be placed on SAT and/or ACT scores - SAT: 1000 or above; ACT: 22 or above
  • participation and leadership in activities of the school and community
  • poise and ability to communicate effectively
  • there is no restriction as to the sex, race, religion, national origin, or size of school - FREF adheres to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Application, official high school transcript and ACT/SAT scores must be mailed NO LATER THAN JANUARY 10, 2011.

FREA is the State professional organization whose primary purpose is to represent retired educators.
