Filled out your FAFSA? READ THIS!
During the application process, all 2012-2013 FAFSA applicants
who indicate that they have already filed a federal tax return will be expected
to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.
Anyone indicating that they “will file” a tax return will be
advised to use IRS Data Retrieval to update their information after their 2011
federal income tax return has been filed.
Applicants who are selected for verification
will be required to either use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool or obtain a tax
transcript from the IRS and submit it to their financial aid administrator.

Jacksonville Bulldog Alumni Scholarship
The Vince Dooley Scholarship is funded and awarded by the Jacksonville Bulldog Alumni Scholarship, Inc. The award is a one-year, renewable scholarship in the amount of $3,000 to help defer educational costs for a period of once year's matriculation at the University of Georgia.

Submissions for the Teen Safe Driving Video Contest are now being accepted. Duval County high school students can create a 30-60 second video highlighting the dangers of distracted or impaired driving. The contest offers students more than $3,000 in scholarships, with their school receiving a $1,000 grant.

Corporate Grant to Work in the Public Education System
JACKSONVILLE,
FL (February 8, 2012) — Duval County Public Schools, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s
Office, and local non-profit organization, The SELF Movement, announced a
partnership today to launch a Teen Safe Driving Video Contest in Duval
County.
The
contest offers individuals or teams of up to four students more than $3,000 in
scholarships and prizes. The first-place winner will designate a Duval County
public high school in advance to receive a $1,000 grant for a student-focused
improvement project of the school’s choice.
The video contest provides
an opportunity for teens to educate their peers on the dangers of distracted or
impaired driving. Students are asked to create a 30-60 second video, which must
be submitted to The SELF Movement’s YouTube channel by midnight on March 17,
2012. The public will select seven finalists from April 7 – 22, 2012 and
a local panel of judges will select three additional finalists. The
finalists and honorable mention candidates will be announced by May 5, 2012 in
advance of a formal red carpet award ceremony later that month.The Teen Safe Driving Video Contest will also raise funds to benefit the Duval County Public Schools’ driver education program. The financial support for both the video contest and updated driver education resource material will be provided in part by a $10,000 donation from the Allstate Foundation.

nonprofit organization, whose mission is to enrich Jacksonville by the
planting, promotion and protection of trees.

The Kohl's Cares® Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards young volunteers (ages 6-18) who help make their communities a better place to live.
Eligibility
To be eligible, the student must meet the following criteria as of March 15, 2012.
- Must be between the ages of 6 and 18 and not yet a high school graduate.
- Actions must be described in detail and should document efforts above and beyond what is expected of a child his or her age.
- Volunteer efforts must have occurred in the last year.
- Winners are chosen based on the project, benefits and outcome.
Awards
This year, more than 2,200 kids will be recognized with over $440,000 in scholarships and prizes.
- Store Winners will receive a $50 Kohl’s Gift Card.
- Regional Winners will each be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for post-secondary education.
- National Winners will each be awarded a total of $10,000 in scholarships for post-secondary education and Kohl's will donate $1,000 to a non-profit organization on each winner's behalf.
