The Daughters of the Cincinnati gives college scholarships to the daughters of career commissioned officers of the United States armed services. Founded in 1894 by descendants of George Washington’s officers, our organization has given scholarships to officers’ daughters for over a hundred years.
Our scholars follow the path of their choice at major colleges and universities. Engineering, fine arts, astrophysics, Middle Eastern studies, English, and history are recent majors. Currently our scholarship recipients are attending Harvard, William and Mary, Georgetown University, the University of California at Davis, and Rice, as well as many other fine institutions.
Selection is based on both merit and financial need. The application process includes an essay, a secondary school report, a letter of recommendation from the applicant's community, and a Student Aid Report (SAR). Applications are due March 15 of senior year.
